Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 Review
When it comes to work stations, personal computers and sprawling networks, there are few things more important than an excellent antimalware suite. There are plenty to choose from on the market today and one of the top contenders this year is Kaspersky Internet Security 2013.
The comprehensive suite is offered at $60 a year and covers three PCs. Consumers may be surprised to discover that the interface is teal and white as opposed to the red vs green interface that are typically seen on security suites. Thankfully, this difference has no bearing whatsoever on performance and Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 does not disappoint.
Pros: The Best Points of Kaspersky
PC World conducted a thorough review of this product and made some interesting discoveries. Among the many different tests they ran on the software was the real world attack test. The test is designed to demonstrate how well a security suite is able to detect and deal with new malware threats as it comes across them in the "real world" of cyberspace. Kaspersky successfully and completely rejected 94.4% of threats detected during the test. Kaspersky also scored well during their malware-zoo tests. With a 98.1% detection rate, Kaspersky holds its own against the competition. This software will not flag safe files as malicious software; something that has been a concern with other antimalware suites, eg. BitDefender Internet Security 2013 Review.

A comprehensive security suite should also be able to successfully detect and resolve infections within a system and Kaspersky does just that. In PC World's trials, the software successfully resolved all evidence of malware 80% of the time. While some may question the positivity of that percentage, keep in mind that only two other suites they tested scored better, putting Kaspersky at the top of the class for performance.
Kaspersky has excellent manual scan times and is delightfully simple to install with only four phases of clicking. The registration process is no more involved than typing in an e-mail address and the system is ready to go in minutes without requiring a reboot. Aside from its overall excellent performance, one of the best features of this software is that it has a sleek, extremely user-friendly interface that is intuitive and easy to learn. While some users may find it to be slightly intimidating at first they will quickly learn that the detail oriented interface is easy to navigate and that the options and settings all simple to use and easy to understand. Unlike some suites, this particular one uses very little jargon but does not sacrifice details to do so. The system is designed to be comprehensive and detail oriented for veteran security professionals at the same time as being completely accessible to novice users.
